357 Certain John Evans in the County afd Gentleman ^one^ of the Justices of the said County Court in which office the same John Evans hitherto hath Continued to wit at the County afd and that John Ambrose of Saint pauls parish in the County afd planter afterwards to wit the tenth day of Novem.r Anno Dom Seventeen hundred twenty and Seven at the Parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court having Discourse with the said John Evans and not being Ignorent of the premisses then & there in the psence and hearing of many Liege Subjects of our Lord the King that now is Unlawfull Malistiously and Unjuriously to the said John Evans did say Speak & with a loud Voice assert pronounce & publish of the same John Evans these false Scandalous Contempluous & opprobrious english words following to wit You / the afd John Evans meaning / a Majestrate? / a Justice of the peace meaning / You (the same John Evans again meaning / are no more fit for a Majestrate (a Justice a Justice of the peace again meaning) that my Backside (the Backside of him the said John Ambrose meaning) and that the afd John Ambrose afterward to wit the same Day and year and at the place last mentioned having further Discourse with the said John Evans to the same John Evans then and there in the presence and hearing of many Liege Subjects of the said Lord the King unlawfully maliciously and unjustly of the same John Evans did say and Speak and with a Loud voice assent pronounce and publish these other false Scandelous and approbrious English words following to wit You (the afd John Evans meaning) a Majestrate? (A justice of the peace meaning) You (the said John Evans again meaning) are no more fit for a Majestrate (a Justice of the peace again meaning) than my Arse (the Arse of the said John Ambrose meaning) to the great Scandall and Defamation of the said John Evans and to the evill Example of all other dolenquits in such Case offending to the manefest and open Contempt of the said Lord propry and of his Laws Contrary to the peace of the same Lord propry his good rule and Government And against the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided wherefore the same Attorney of the afd Lord propry for the same Lord propry prayeth the Advise of the Court here in the psses and Due process of Law in this part to be made against the said John Ambrose to answer unto the same Lord propry of and upon the psses &c T: Francis Clk pac.
