March Court 1727 Kent County fs.t / The Deposition of Christian Culley taken before us two of the right Honourable the Lord propry his Justices of the peace for Kent County afd The said Deponant being Sworn on the holy Evangel of Almighty God Saith that on or about the tenth Day of Nov.r last past She the said Deponant saw a Certain John Ambrose of the County afd pull of his handkerchief to fight with M.r John Evans a Justice of the peace within the same County & that the said John Evans then asked the afd John Ambrose if he did not know that he was a Majestrate And that John Ambrose replied and Said You a Majestrate? you are no more fit for a Majestrate than my backside before any battery happened betwext them And further Saith not Taken Before Us this 25.th day of No.r Anno Dom. 1727 Abra: Redgrave Geo: Skirven And now here at this Court to wit the third teusday of March being the Ninteenth Day of said month Anno Dom. One thousand seven hundred twenty and seven came the afd Tench Francis his Lordship the right Honourable the Lord propry Attry to prosecute for his said Lordship in this Court as also the afd John Ambrose in his proper and Saith that he Cannot gainsay the Information afd so as afd against him Imposed as by the afd Information it is alledged And thereupon Submits to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court house in the Town of Chester in said County This ninteenth Day of March Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred & twenty seven That the afd said right Honourable the Lord propry that now is, do recover against the afd John Ambrose the sume of five Shills Sterl money as a find for his offence afd inform afd Confest According to the force form and Effect in the Law in such Case made & provided and also it is Considered that the said John Ambrose pay the sum of two hundred Sixty five pounds of tob.o Costs Accruing on the psses afd to the officers of this Court &c.a Jam.s Smith Clk. |
