348                                November Court 1727

    To the Peace she says that she is ready to make oath that according
to his behaviour to her she goes in danger of her life &c.a Thereupon
its ordered by the Court here that warrant issue for the afd S.t
Leger Codd to answer the same Complaint

    A warrant having issued according to the afd order for the
aforementioned S.t Leger Codd the Sherriff of Kent County ^to whom y.e same was directed^ makes
Return thereof to this Court here on the twenty fifth day of November
Anno Dom Seventeen hundred twenty and seven Endorst as foll.s viz.t
                                            Warranted p     John Gresham Sherrf

    Thereupon the afd S.t Leger Codd cometh into Court here in his proper
person and appeareth to the Complaint afd

    Whereupon the Justices of Kent County here to wit at the Court
house in the Town of Chester this twenty fifth day of November in the
year afd Last mentioned having duly weighed and Seriously
Considered the allegations of both parties do nothing farther therein
thereupon the proceedings Cease

who for the same Lord propry in this part prosecuteth doth Come here
into Kent County Court before Lambert Wilmer Esq.r and his associates
his said Lordships Justices of the same County to wit at Chester
Town in the County afd the twenty first day of March Anno Domini
Seventeen hundred twenty and six at the Parish afd in the County afd
and his And for the same Lord propry doth give the Court here to understand
and be informed that Jacob Vanbebber late of Saint pauls
parish in Kent County Planter the tenth day of Aprill Anno Dom
Seventeen hundred twenty and six at the parish afd in the County
afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ fornication
with a Certain Elizabeth Clark and then and there did begett a bastard
                                                                                                    Child
