Kent County fs.t Memorandum that Tench Francis
Gent Attorney of the Right Honourable y.e Lord prop.ry
that now is for the County afd who for the Same Lord
prop.ry in this part followeth in his proper person Doth Come here into
Kent County Court at new Town in Kent County afd the twentyeth Day
of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty Seven and for the
Same Lord prop.ry Doth give the Court here to understand and be

    Informed that Daniel Pearkins of Shrewsbury parish in Kent County
afd planter the Nineteenth Day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred
twenty and Seven at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdicon
of this Court in and upon a Certain Thomas Shearman in the peace
of God and of the s.d Lord prop.ry then and there being with force and
Arms to wit with Cubbs Staves Chaires and fists and other offensive
weapons an assault Did make and him the Same Tho.s then and there did
Beat wound and Evilly treat so that of his life it was much Despaired
and other harms to him then and there Did to y.e Great Damage of the
Same Thomas and against the peace of the s.d Lord prop.ry his Good
Rule and Government &c.a Wherefore the Same Attorney of the Same
Lord prop.ry for the s.d Lord prop.ry prayeth the Advice of the Court here
in the premisses and Due process of Law in this part to be made against
the afd Daniel to Answer unto the afd Lord prop.ry of and upon the
premisses &c.a
Test. Tho.s Sheareman                        T francis Cler. pacis

    And the afd Daniel Pearkins in his proper person Cometh and Saith that
he is in no Sort Guilty of the premisses above upon him Imposed as by
the afd Information it is alledged and thereof he putteth himself
upon the Country                            Daniel Pearkins in p.a psona

    And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith his is guilty

    Thereupon Command was given to the Sherf of Kent County that he Immediatly
Cause to Come here twelve &c.a ^by whome &c.a^ who neither &c.a to Recognize &c.a
because as well &c.a of which s.d precept the s.d Sherf to wit John Gresham
Gent now here at this Day to wit the twenty Second Day of June Anno
Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty Seven makes Return that he
hath here ready twelve &c.a as by his precept he was Commanded And
now here afterwards to wit the Day and year last mentioned Came
again the afd Lord prop.ry by Tench Francis his Clerk of Indictments
