Indebted unto the Lord prop.ry of this province of Maryland in the Sume of tenn
pounds Sterling money of Great to be Leveyed of his Goods and Chattles Lands
and Tenements Conditionally that if he Shall not make his personal appearance
before the Justices of our next Court to be held for Kent County at the Court
house in the Town of Chester in s.d County to give Evidence for his Lordship
against the afd Philemon Church wherewith y.e s.d John is Content

Gentl Attorney of the Right Honourable the Lord prop.ry
that now is for the County afd who for the Same Lord
prop.ry in this part followeth In his proper person doth
Come here into Kent County Court at new Town in Kent County afd the
twentyeth Day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty & Seven and
for the Same Lord prop.ry Doth give the Court here to understand and be informed
that William Laskey of S.t pauls parish in Kent County afd planter the
tenth Day of June Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred twenty and Seven at the
parish afd in the County af within the Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon
a Certain Benjamin Keir in the peace of God and of the s.d Lord prop.ry
then and there being with force and Arms an assault Did make and him
the Same Benjamin then and there Did Beat wound and Evilly treat
so that of his life it was much Despaired and other harms to him then
and there Did to the great Damage of the Same Benjamin and against
the peace of the s.d Lord prop.ry his good Rule and Government &c.a wherefore
the Same Attorney of the s.d Lord prop.ry for the Same Lord prop.ry prayeth
the advice of the Court herein the premisses and Due process of Law in
this part to be made against the afd William to Answer unto the afd Lord
prop.ry of and upon the premisses &c.a T francis Cler. pac.

    And the afd William Laskey in his proper person Comes and Saith that he
Cannot gainsay the Information afd So as afd against him brought nor but
that he is guilty of the premisses above upon him Imposed as by the afd Information
it is alledged and thereupon Submits to y.e Court

    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here this twenty first Day of June
Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty Seven that the s.d W.m Laskey
pay the Sume of two hundred and fifty pounds of Tobacco as a fine for
his afd offence in form afd Confest ^according to Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided^ and the Sume of three hundred and
thirty one pounds of Tob.o Costs Accrueing on y.e premisses afd to y.e officers of
this Court

    Order'd by y.e Court here that y.e Sher of Kent County keep the s.d W.m Laskey in safe
Custody untill he Shall Satisfie y.e fine & fees in y.e Judgm.t afd Specified Amounting
