    On the Back of y.e preceeding Indictment was as foll.s viz.t True Bill
Sam.l Groome forem.n

    And the afd Hannah Ward In her proper person Comes &
Saith that She Can not Gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against her Bro.t
nor but that She is guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed as by the
afd Indictment it is alledged and thereupon Submitts to the Court.

    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court house in
the Town of Chester in Kent County this 20.th Day of June Anno Dom.
Seventeen hundred and twenty Seven that the s.d Hannah Ward
Receive at the publick Whipping post Eleven lashes well laid on her bare
Back till the Blood appears as a punishment for her afd Crime of Committing
fornication in form afd Confest also it is Considered that She pay the Sume
of three hundred and fifty Eight pounds of Tob.o Costs Accrueing on y.e
premisses afd to y.e officers of this Court

    Ordered by the Court here at this Day to wit the Day and year last mentioned
that the Sher of Kent County take the afd Hannah Ward into
his Custody and Execute the punishment in the Judgment afd Specified
and afterwards to bring her into Court again Of which s.d precept the s.d
Sher to wit John Gresham Gent. High Sher of Kent County makes Return
on the Day and year last said that he hath Executed the s.d Judgment And
also hath here y.e s.d Hanna Ward before y.e Court

    Ordered by the Court here that the afd Hannah Ward prove y.e ffather
of the Child in the Indictment afd Specified who Declares on y.e holy
Evangilists of Almighty God that a Certain Samuel Hudson is y.e
ffather of y.e afd Child

    Ordered by the Court here that the Sher of Kent County keep y.e s.d
Hannah Ward in Safe Custody untill She Shall Satisfie y.e Costs in
y.e Indictment afd Specified
