Charles Smith
Tench Francis Gent Attorney of the right honourable
the Lord prop.ry of this province of Maryland
Informs the Court that the afd Charles hath from
Talbot County feloniously Stolen a horse of the goods
and Chattles of him the said Tench Francis on which the Court orders y.e
Sher of Kent County to bring the said Charles into Court who appears at
the Barr And Thereupon it is ordered by the Court here that the afd
Charles Smith enter into Recognizance with good Security for his appearance
at next March Court to be held for Talbot County at the Court house in Said
County to Answer unto Shall be objected against him on his Lordships
behalf on Suspicion of feloniously Stealing the afd Horse and Good behav.r
and that the Sherf of Kent County keep him y.e said Charles in safe Custody
untill he Shall enter as afd

    Whereupon Charles Smith of Kent County planter present herein Court in
in his proper person Doth acknowledge himself Indebted unto the right Hon.ble
the Lord prop.ry of this province of Maryland &c.a in the Sume of forty pounds
Sterl money of great Brittain to be made and Leveyed of his goods and
Chattles Lands and Tenements for the use of the said Lord prop.ry his heirs
and Successors Conditionally that if the same Charles shall not make his
personal appearance before the Justices of the next March Court to be held
for Talbot County afd at the Court house afd to Answer unto what Shall be
objected against him on Suspicion of feloniously Stealing a horse of the
Goods and Chattles of the afd Tench Francis and if that in the mean time
he Shall not be of good Behaviour wherewith y.e said Charles Doth Acknowledge
himself to be Content                                                        Also

    John Clayton and Robert Meckey both of Kent County afd planters
present here in Court in their proper persons do Acknowledge themselves
                                                                                                        Indebted
