November Court 1726 M.r George Skirven afd Returns a Recognizance of M.r Arthur Miller of said County and province Gentl for his appearance to this Court as a prosecutor for his Lordship against the afd Rebecca Jones bearing Date the Seventh Day of October Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty and Six And now here at this Court the said Arthur appearing Ordered that his Recognizance be discharged The afd Arthur Miller on the Day and Year afd before the afd George Skirven acknowledged himself Indebted unto the Lord prop.ry of this province of Maryland in the sum of ten pounds Sterl Money of great Brittain to be Leveyed on his goods and Chattles Lands and Tenements Conditionally that if he should not make his personall appearance before the Justices of this Court as a prosecutor for his Lordpp against the afd Rebecka Jones And now at this Court here to wit the fifteenth Day of November Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty & six the said Arthur appearing his said Recognizance is discharged Kent County fs.t The Jurors for the Right Honourable the Lord Proprity that now is for the body of Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that Rebecca Jones late of Saint pauls parish in the County afd the Wife of a Certain John Jones the tenth Day of July Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty & six with force and Arms at the parish ^in y.e Coty afd^ within the Jurisdiction of this Court one silver Cup of the value of five Shillings Current Money of Maryland of the goods and Chattles of a Certain Arthur Miller then and there being found then and there felloniously did steal take and bear away Contrary to the peace of the said Lord prop.ry that now is his good Rule and Governm.t and against the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case Custody made and provided
A true bill by William Crowe fforeman And the afd Rebecca Jones in her proper person comes and saith that she is in no sort guilty of the premisses above upon her imposed as by the afd Indictm.t it is alledged and thereof she putteth herself upon the Country Rebecca Jones in prop.a psona And he who followeth for the Lord Prop.ry in like manner saith she is guilty Tench Francis p Lord prop.ry And now here afterward to wit the fifteenth Day of November Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty and six Comes into Court the afd Rebecca Jones in her proper person |
