November Court 1726 Ordered by the Court here that the Sherrf of Kent County keep him the said Nicholas in safe Custody untill he shall Sattisfie the ffees afd in the Judgment afd Specefied
Parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did committ fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permitt the same unknown Person then and there to have Carnall knowledge of her body and to begett then and there a bastard Child on the body of her the same Anne to the high Displeasure of Almighty God to the evill Example of all others in such Case Offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and Government and against the form of the Act of Assembly in that Case made and provided Test M.r Francis Skirven T francis Cler. pac. On the back of the preceeding Indictm.t was this Endorsm.t viz.t A true bill by William Crowe fforeman And the afd Anne in her proper person comes and saith that she cannott gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against her brought nor but that she is guilty of the premisses above upon her imposed as by the afd Indictment it it alledged and thereupon Submitts to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here this fifteenth Day of Novemb.r Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty and six that the afd Anne Fennen pay the Sum of thirty shillings Current Money of the province of Maryland as a fine for the use of this County according to Act of Assembly &c.a Also the sum of two hundred sixty pounds of Tobacco Costs accruing on the premisses afd to the Officers of this Court Jam.s Smith Clk Ordered by the Court here that the said Anne Fennen pay the sum of four hundred pounds of Tobacco to Mary Fannen for the trouble and Disgrace of her house in bringing her the said Anne to bed of the Child in the Judg.t afd specified |
