Answer unto the Complaint of Anne Fennen and if that in the mean time
he should not be of good behaviour And now at this Court to wit the fifteenth
Day of November Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty and six the said
Nicholas having appeared the said John Rawlinson and William Rearadin
their Recognizances and either of them is Discharged

    Kent County fs.t The Jurors for the Right Honourable the Lord proprietary
that now is for the body of Kent County afd upon their Oath do present that
Nicholas Neil late of S.t pauls parish in the County afd Labourer the tenth
Day of May Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty and Six at the parish afd
in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ fornication
with a Certain person Anne Fenner and then and there did begitt a bastard
Child on the body of her the same Anne to the high Displeasure of Almighty
God to the Evill Example of all others in such Case offending Contrary to the peace
of the said Lord prop.ry that now is his good rule and Government and against
the form of the Act of Assembly in such Case lately made and provided
Test Anne Fenner                                                T francis Cler. pac.

    On the back of the preceeding Indictm.t was as folls viz.t a true bill by W.m Crow foreman

    And the afd Nicholas Neil in his proper person Comes and saith that he Cannot
gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against him brought nor but that he is
guilty of the premisses above upon him imposed as by the afd Indictment
it is alledged and thereupon Submitts to the Court Therefore it is Considered
by the Justices here to wit this fifteenth Day of November Anno Dom. seventeen
hundred twenty and Six that the afd Nicholas Neil pay the sum of thirty
Shillings Current money of Maryland as a fine for his afd offence of Comitting
fornication in form afd Confest to be applyed for the use of this County according
to Act of Assembly &c.a As also the sum of two hundred and sixty pounds
of Tobacco Costs accruing on the premisses afd to the Officers of this Court

    Roger Murphey and Daniel Dulahuntee both of Kent County planters
and present here in Court in their proper person under take and either of them
undertakes joyntly and Severally for the afd Nicholas Neil that he the said
Nicholas shall keep this County of Kent clear from all Damages and Costs
that may here after accrue On Account of Anne Kennens Child in the Indictment
afd Specefyed

                                                                                                            Ordered
