such Case made and provided &c.a Wherefore the same Attorney of the said
Lord prop.ry prayeth the advice here of the Court here in the premisses for the
said Lord proprietary And that due process of Law in this part to be made
against the afd Katharine to Answer unto the said Lord prop.ry of and upon
the premisses &c.a

    And the afd Katharine in her proper pson Comes and Saith that she
is in no Sort guilty of the premisses upon her Imposed as by the afd Informon
it is alledged and there of she putteth herself upon the Country
                                                                            Katharine Banks in p.a pson

    And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner saith she is
guilty                                                T francis p Lord Proprietary

    Thereupon Command was given to the Sherrf of Kent County that he
Imediately cause to Come here twelve &c.a by whom &c.a who neither &c.a to
recognize &c.a because as well &c.a of which said precept the said Sherrf to
wit John Gresham Gentl now here at this Day to wit the fifteenth Day
of November Anno Dom. seventeen hundred twenty and six makes return
that he hath here ready twelve &c.a as by his precept he was Commanded
And now here afterwards to wit the Day and year last Mentioned Come
againe the afd Lord prop.ry by Tench Francis his Clk of Indictments afd as
also the said Katharine Banks in her pper person And the Jurors of that
Jury being Impanelled and Called likewise Came to wit Christopher Hall
John Woodall, Robert Dunn Jun.r, Benjamin Ric^k^aud, Thomas Joce, Will.m
Dean, Jeremiah Covington, Charles Smith, Nicholas Reily, James Wyatt,
John Blackiston & John Meccay who being duly Elected tryed and Sworn to
say the truth in the premisses upon their Oath do say that the afd Katharine
Banks is guilty of fornication with a Negro as by the afd Information it
is alledged And by Christopher Hall their foreman allso say

    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court house in
the Town of Chester in said County this fifteenth Day of November Anno
Dom. seventeen hundred twenty and Six that the afd Katharine Banks
be a Servant and Serve for the space and tern of Seven Years for her afd
Crime of having a bastard Child by a Negro on ^according to^ by the force form and Effect
of the Verdict afd ^and^ according to the form of the Act of Assembly in that
