afd in Kent County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did
Commit fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and
did permit the Same unknown person then and there to have Carnal
Knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a Bastard Child on the
body of her the Same Mary to the high Displeasure of Almighty God
to y.e Evill Example of all others in Such Case offending Contrary to the
peace of the s.d Lord prop.ry that now is his good Rule and Government
and against the form of the Act of Assembly in that Case made & provided
Test Griffith Jones                             T francis Cler. pac.

    On the back  of y.e preceeding Indictment was Endorst as foll.s viz.t
A True Bill p.r Sam.l Wickes foreman

    And the afd Mary Cunningham in her proper person Comes and
saith that She is in no Sort Guilty of y.e premisses above upon her Imposed
as by the afd Indictment it is alledged and thereof She putteth herself
upon the Country                            Mary Cunningham in p.a psona

    And he who followeth for the Lord prop.ry in like manner Saith She
is Guilty                                    T francis p Lord prop.ry

    And now here afterwards to wit y.e Day and year afd Comes into Court y.e
afd Mary Cunningham in her proper person and Relinquishes the
plea afd and saith that She Cannot gainsay the Indictment afd so as
afd against her brought nor Can She say but that She is guilty of the premisses
above upon her Imposed or by the afd Indictment it is alledged and thereupon
Submitts to the Court Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at
the Court house in the Town of Chester in s.d County this Sixteenth Day of
August Anno Dom. 1726 that the s.d Mary Cunningham pay the Sume
of thirty Shillings Curr.t money of Maryland as a fine for her afd offence
of Committing fornication in form afd Confest also it is Considered
that y.e afd Mary pay the Sume of three hundred and Ninety three
pounds of Tob.o Costs Accrueing on the premisses afd to y.e officers of
this Court

Cunningham and Delivers to y.e Sher y.e fine in y.e Judgment afd Specified
and are Committed is Committed into the Custody of the afd Sher of
