Katherine Banks
 A writt haveing Issued against the said Katherine
at his Lordships Suite to answer to an Indictment
for fornication the Sher of Kent County to
whome the said writt was Directed makes Return
thereof to this Court here on the third Teusday of June being the twenty first
Day of said Month Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty Six the
Day of Return of s.d writt Endorst as foll.s viz.t Cepi Corpus p Fred.k Hanson Sher

    Kent County fs.t The Jurors for the Right Hon.ble the Lord prop.ry that now is for
the body of Kent County afd upon their oath Do present that Katherine
Banks of Shrewsbury parish in the County afd Spinster the first Day of
October Anno Dom. Seventeen hundred and twenty five at the parish afd
in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court Did Commit fornication
with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown and Did
permit the Same unknown person then and there to have Carnal
knowledge of her body and to begett then and there a bastard Child on
the Body of her the Same Katherine to the high Displeasure of Almighty
God to y.e Evill Example of all others in Such Case offending Contrary
to the peace of the s.d Lord prop.ry that now is his Good Rule and Governm.t
and against the Act of Assembly in Such Case made & provided &c

    On the Back of y.e preceeding Indictment was as foll.s viz.t
A true Bill p.r Sam.l Wickes foreman

    Whereupon the afd Katherine Banks in her proper person Comes and
appears to the afd Indictment But Tench Francis ^Gentl^ Clk of Indictments for this
County Informs the Court that he hath no Sufficient Evidence to Support the
Charge laid against the afd Katherin in the afd Indictment and thereupon
Consents that the Same Indictment be quashed Therefore it is
Considered by the Justices here this twenty first Day of June Anno Dom.
Seventeen hundred and twenty Six that the afd Katherine Banks as to
the Indictment afd She go thereof without Day and be there from Acquitted
also it is Considered that the s.d Katherine pay the Sume of two
hundred and fifty Six pounds of Tobacco Costs Accrueing on the premisses
afd to the officers of this Court
