of the said Lord prop.ry that now is his Good rule and Government &
against the form of the Act of Assembly in Such Case made and
provided &c.a

            On the Back of y.e preceeding Indictment was as foll.s viz.t
A true Bill by W.m Crow foreman

    And the afd Elizabeth Jones in her proper person Comes and Saith
that She Can not Gainsay the Indictment afd so as afd against her brought
nor but that She is Guilty of the premisses above upon her Imposed as
by the afd Indictment it is alledged & thereupon Submitts to the Court

    Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here to wit at the Court house
in the town of Chester in s.d County this fifteenth Day of of March Anno
Dom. Seventeen hundred and and twenty five that the s.d Elizabeth
Jones receive at the publick whipping post twenty one Lashes well
laid on her bare Back till the blood appear as a punishment for
her afd Crime of Comitting fornication in form afd Confest as
also that She pay the Sume of three hundred and Seventy ^two^ pounds
of Tobacco Costs Accrueing on the premisses afd to the officers of
this Court

    Ordered by the Court here at this Day to wit the Day and year afd that
the Sherr of Kent County take the afd Elizabeth Jones into his
Custody and Execute the Lashes in the Judgment afd and afterward
to bring her into Court again of which said precept the s.d Sherf
to wit Fred.k Hanson Gent high Sher of Kent County makes
return on the Day and year last Said that he hath Executed the
s.d Judgment and also hath here the s.d Elizabeth Jones before
the Court

    The s.d Elizabeth Jones haveing Entered into Recognizance for
her appearance at any time Dureing Court Sitting to Answer to
the Indictment afd and now y.e s.d Eliz.a haveing appeared ordered
that her Recognizance and her Suretys Recognizances be Discharged

    Elizabeth Jones of Kent County Spinster at this Court Acknowledged her
self Indebted unto the Lord prop.ry of this province of Maryland in the
Sume of ten pounds Sterling money of Great Brittain to be Levey'd &c.a
Conditionally that if She Should not make her personal appearance
