LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAP. 14.

And whereas, the certificate of the due qualification of the
said judge to take said acknowledgment, was signed and
certified by the deputy clerk of the court of Common Pleas
of Belmont county, in said District, instead of being signed
and certified by the principal Clerk thereof — Therefore,


Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the said deed'be as valid to convey the lands therein
mentioned, to the said Doctor James Montgomery, and his
heirs, as if the said certificate had been signed and certified
by the principal Clerk of said Court.


CHAPTER 13.

Passed Jan. 21, 1835

An act for the relief of Jacob Harris.

Preamble

WHEREAS, Jacob Harris, a free negro man, is in con-
finement in the jail of Frederick county, for the non-pay-
ment of fees, costs, and charges due on a criminal prosecu-
tion had against him — Therefore,

Discharge.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Sheriff of Frederick county be, and he is hereby
authorized and required to discharge the said Jacob Harris,
in confinement on account of the non-payment of the fine,
costs, and charges aforesaid, from Jail, and the Levy Court

Levy for costs

of Frederick county is hereby required and directed to levy
on the assessable property of said county, the costs and
charges due from said negro, on the said criminal prosecu-
tion, and also the prison fees which now remain due for
keeping the said negro in Jail as aforesaid.


CHAPTER 14.

Passed Jan. 21, 1833

An act to repeal an act, entitled, "An act for the preservation
of Fish in Allegany county" passed at December session,
eighteen hundred and thirty one.

Repeal

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act for the preservation of Fish in Allegany coun-
ty, passed at December session, eighteen hundred and thir-
ty-one, chapter two hundred and thirty-one, be, and the
same is hereby repealed.
