Resolution in favour of John Marshall, of Cecil county.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore, pay to John Marshall,
of Cecil county, or to his order, during life, in quarter year-
ly payments, a sum of money equal to the half pay of a
private, in consideration of services rendered by him during
the revolutionary war.

Resolution relative to Academies in this State.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
from and after the expiration of the present session of the
Legislature, any Academy in this State not reporting agree-
ably to the requisitions of the act of eighteen hundred and
twenty-three, on or before the month of February in each
and every year, shall forfeit ten per centum, of the annual
donation of such Academy, of the year in which said Aca-
demy so fails.

Resolution in favour of the Supervisors therein mentioned.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
his Excellency the Governor, by and with the advice of
the Council, be, and he hereby is, authorised to allow to
the persons employed under the resolution of eighteen
hundred and thirty-one, number seventy-nine, to supervise
the printing of the report on the Digest of the Laws, by
Reverdy Johnson and John Buchanan, such compensa-
tion as may be deemed to be just and proper, and to draw
upon the Treasurer of the Western Shore for the whole or
