said Commissioners as aforesaid, for the commencement
and completion of said work, that the said subscribers shall

corporate, by the name and style of "The Northwestern
Turnpike Road Company of Allegany," for the purpose of
making a turnpike road from the north branch of the Poto-
mac, in and through Allegany county, to the north-west
Virginia line, so as to intersect at each point with the north-
western turnpike road of Virginia, and shall have perpetual
succession; Provided, said work shall have been put in oper-
ation within the space of three years; otherwise, to be null
and void.
