JAMES THOMAS, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

1832.

Arundel county, that the public convenience would be
greatly promoted by opening the road which leads from
John Steuart, (formerly the residence of Captain David
Steuart,) through the lands of Thomas Davidson, of Ed-
ward Harvey, and of the heirs of the late Solomon Groves,
and which intersects the public road near the land, but
with the bounds of the farm of Robert W. Kent— There-
fore,

CHAP. 254.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Stephen Beard, Thomas Hodges and
Thomas Welsh, be, and they are hereby appointed com-
missioners, and they are authorised and required to open the
road which leads from John Stuarts, (formerly the resi-
dence of Captain David Stuart,) through the lands of
Thomas Davidson, of Edward Harvey, and of the heirs of
the late Solomon Groves, and which intersects the public
road near the land, but with the bounds of the farm of Ro-
bert W. Kent; and when said road shall be opened as re-

quired by the provisions of this act, the commissioners
aforesaid, shall be required to report to the commissioners
of Anne Arundel county, the expense of doing the same;

Report.

and thereupon the commissioners of said county are here-
by authorised and required to levy upon the assessable pro-
perty of the county aforesaid, a sum of money sufficient to
defray such expense.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commission-
ers before they proceed to open said road, shall make oath,
or affirmation, as the case may be, that they will faithfully
perform the duties reposed in them by this act, to the best
of their skill and judgment.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That when said road shall
be opened as aforesaid, it shall be taken and considered as
a public highway, and as such shall be kept in repair by
the county as other highways are.

An act relating to Pine Street, in the City of Baltimore.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That so much of Pine street, as lies South of Bal-
