CHAP. 217

section of the act of eighteen hundred and seventeen, chap-
ter one hundred and forty-eight, and that the owners of
ground within" the said part of Caroline street be authorized
to use and improve the said part of Caroline street, in the
same way, to all intents and purposes, as if the said part of
Caroline street had not been laid off by the Commissioners
appointed by the act of eighteen hundred and seventeen,
chapter one hundred and forty-eight.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That before proceeding to
act under this law, the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more, cause the substance and object of this law to be
published for one week in all the daily papers of the city of
Baltimore, and notify all persons interested in the same, to
make known their objections, if any they have; the expense
of the said advertisement to be paid by the party or parties
who may petition the said Mayor and City Council in that
behalf.


CHAPTER 217.

Passed Mar.10, 1833

An act to change the name of Edmond Plowden, of St. Mary's
county, to that of Edmond Paul Plowden.

Name changed.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the name of Edmond Plowden, be
and the same is hereby altered and changed, to the name of
Edmond Paul Plowden; and it shall and may be lawful for
the said Edmond Plowden, at all times hereafter, to be
known by and to hold and use the name of Edmond Paul
Plowden, and by that name to sue and be sued in any court
of law or equity.

Acts confirmed.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all deeds, contracts,
securities, promises, assurances, and lawful acts, whatever,
heretofore made or done, or hereafter to be made or done
by or to the said Edmond Plowden, shall be of the same
force and effect, to all intents nnd purposes, as if the name
had not been changed to that of Edmond Paul Plowden,
