CHAPTER 165.

An act to confirm an act, entitled, "an act to alter and re-
peal all such parts of the constitution and form of govern-
ment, as relates to the division of Frederick county into
twelve election districts, and for other purposes, passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter
one hundred and twelve.

Confirmation.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That an act of Assembly, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter one hun-
dred and twelve, entitled, An act to alter and repeal all
such parts of the constitution and form of government, as
relate to the division of Frederick county into twelve elec-
tion districts, be and the same is hereby confirmed.

Commissioners to
lay off district No.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That Moses Shaw, Jacob
Landes, William Roberts, James C. Atlee, William Dud-
derer, and William Morsell, be, and they are hereby ap-
pointed commissioners, or a majority of them, to lay off a
new election district, from parts of election districts, num-
bers six and seven; said new district to be numbered thir-
teen, and the place of holding elections in said district
number thirteen, shall be fixed by the commissioners afore-
said.

Sec. 3. And, be it enacted, That Patrick McGill, sen'r,

Adam Lorentz, be, and they are hereby appointed commis-
sioners, or a majority of them, to lay off a new election
district, from the third election district, to be numbered
fourteen, and the place of holding elections in said district
number fourteen, shall be in the town of Jefferson in said
county.

Surveyor

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid com-
missioners shall severally qualify according to law, previous
to entering upon the duties of their appointment, employ
a surveyor, and if any of the commissioners named in this

act shall die, remove from the county, or refuse to accept
his appointment, before the first day of May, eighteen hun-
dred and thirty-three, the remaining commissioners for
each district, or a majority of them, are hereby authorised
and directed, (if they deem it necessary,) to fill such va-
cancy or vancancies.

Return plot, &c.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the commissioners, as
aforesaid, shall on or before the second Monday in May,
eighteen hundred and thirty-three, deliver, or cause to be
