his reception of such process, or his receipt of money under
color of his office of sheriff
Section 2. And be it enacted, That the clerk of Prince
George's county court be, and he is hereby authorised and
required to receive and record the bond referred to in the
preceding section, Provided, the same be in all respects in
conformity with the provisions of the existing law upon
the subject of sheriffs' bonds, and the provisions of this
act

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, in consequence of an unforeseen accident,
Preston McComas, Sheriff of Harford county, has been
prevented from executing his bond as sheriff of said county,
within the time limited by law, — therefore,

SECTION 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Justices of the Orphans' Court of
Harford county, or any two of them, either in or out of
court, are hereby authorised and empowered to take the
bond of the said Preston McComas, as sheriff as aforesaid
and to approve of the securities, on or before the last day of
February next, in the same manner and form as is pre-
scribed by law, winch said bond, when so taken and ap
proved as aforesaid, and recorded according to law, shall
have the same effect, validity, and operation, to all intents
and purposes, as if the same had been taken within the
trine limited and prescribed by law.
Sec. 2 And be it enacted, That all acts, which the said
Preston McComas may do, and shall have done, as sheriff
aforesaid, and in pursuance of the duties of said office, and
in virtue of his election thereto, shall be, to all intents and
purposes, as valid and effectual as if his bond had been
executed within the period limited and prescribed by law.
