Resolution in relation to the Union Bank of Maryland.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he is hereby in-
structed to return to the Union Bank of Maryland, the
certificates of debt of the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road
Company, by the said Bank placed in his hands as colla-
teral security for the State's special deposites therein— and
to invest, at the same time, in the five per cent, stock of this
State, for the use of the sinking fund, and place to its credit,
fifty thousand dollars of said deposite.

Resolution in favor of David W. Hudson.
WHEREAS, on the account of recent riots on the line of
the Washington branch of the Baltimore and Ohio Rail
Road, in Anne Arundel county, certain persons, to the
number of three hundred and ninety, were committed under
the warrant of justices of the peace of said county, to the
jail of Baltimore county, on. account of its being a place of
greater security for so large a number of persons than the
jail of Anne Arundel county; and whereas, the warden of
the said jail of Baltimore county, hath presented his peti-
tion and memorial to this General Assembly, accompanied
by an account of his fees and charges for the commitment
