1834. RESOLUTIONS.

ry off the water from the roof, are covered with copper,
which your committee ascertained to be too narrow to pre-
vent the roof from leaking, the object for which they were
originally covered with that material, and are of opinion, and
accordingly recommend that the same be covered with
broader copper.

Your committee also examined Warehouse No. two, and
ascertained that the North building of said Warehouse will,
require a new roof, and that the compting room of said ware-
house is too small, and would recommend that a new roof
of slate be put upon said north building, and two floors, and
that the said compting room be enlarged and completely new
paved. Your committee are also of opinion that it is ne-
cessary to put a new floor on the upper story of the front
building of warehouse No. 2, and to repair the windows
and doors of the same.

Your committee upon examining warehouse No. 3, found
that the western building of said warehouse, will require a

new roof of slate, two new floors, and the doors and win-
dows to be repaired. At the request of your committee, a
gentleman in the city of Baltimore furnished estimates of
the repairs necessary to be done at the warehouses, which
estimates will accompany this report.

But your committee do not wish these estimates to be
considered a part of this report, only so far as to shew what
would be required, should the Legislature, think proper to
authorise the above repairs, for after examining said esti-
mates, your committee are of opinion that they exceed
greatly the sum or sums necessary to complete said repairs.
Tour committee, therefore, submit the following resolutions:

Retained by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Governor and Council be, and they are hereby authorised
to contract for the repairing of said warehouses.

Resolved, That the Treasurer of the Western Shore, pay,
or cause to be paid to the order of the Governor, such sum
or sums as may be necessary to effect the aforesaid repairs,
out of any money in the Treasury, to the credit of the State's
Tobacco Inspection Fund, not otherwise appropriated.
