RESOLUTIONS.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That,
Captain Joseph Wrlley be, and he is hereby authorised and
empowered, to take possession of said six pieces of artil-
lery, and have them repaired as required by the said reso-
lution; Provided, the said Captain Willey shall give bond,
with security, to be approved by the Executive, for the safe
keeping of said pieces of artillery.

Resolution in favor of Elizabeth Downing.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Treasurer of the Weslern Shore pay to Elizabeth Downing,
widow of Butler Downing, in quarterly payments during
her life, the half pay of a private, in consideration of the
services, of her husband during the war of the revolution.

Resolution requesting the Governor to procure and present
a sword to Captain Edmond P. Kennedy.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
his Excellency the Governor, procure a sword with suitable
devices and ornaments,and present it in the name of the State,
to Commodore Edmond P. Kennedy, of the United States'
Navy, as a testimony of the high sense entertained by his
native State, of his distinguished and gallant services to his
country, in the memorable action with the Tripolitan gun
boats off Tripoli, in August, eighteen hundred and four.
