Sec 4. And be it enacted, That the Levy court of Dor-
chester county, he and they are hereby authorised and re-
quired to levy upon the taxable inhabitants of said county
the amount of expenses necessarily incurred under this aw,
and the same pay over to the person or persons entitled
thereto.

An act to provide for the building of a public bridge over
Birch Branch, in Worcester county

SEC 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary
land, That John L B Robins, William Showell and James
Dirickson, be and they are hereby appointed commission-
ers, a majority of whom shall have power to act, to contract
with, and employ any person or persons to build and com
plete a bridge over the stream commonly called Birch
Branch, in Worcester county, where the road leading from
Showell's store to Robins' mills, crosses said stream.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the aforesaid commissioners, or a majority of them, to offer
the contract for building said bridge, publickly in the town
of Berlin, after they shall have given three weeks notice in
the Borderer, published in Snow Hill, to the lowest and
best bidder, who shall give bond in a penalty double the
amount of the contract, with security to be approved by the
commissioners, for the construction and completion of the
said bridge, in a durable and workmanlike manner

Sec. 3 And be it enacted, that the aforesaid commission-
ers, or a majority of them, after contracting for the building
and completion of said bridge, shall report the amount and
terms of contract to the Levy Court of Worcester county,
Who are hereby authorised and required to levy the same up
on the assessable property of said county, to be paid by the
collector to the builder or builders of said bridge, or his or
their order

Sec 4 And be it enacted, That the Justices of the Levy
Court for Worcester county, may, in their discretion, allow
to each of the aforesaid commissioner, two dollars per day
and no more, for each day they may be necessarily employ-
ed in executing the duties imposed by this act
