cent per annum on the cost of the said Savage Rail Road,
Provided, that the said company, shall be bound to furnish
on oath or affirmation of their presiding officer when so re
quired by the General Assembly a statement of the receipts
and expenditures of the said Rail Road

CHAP 203

Sec 6 And be it enacted That he said President and
Directors are hereby authorised to exercise the same pow-
ers for the purposes of their said Road as the Baltimore
and Ohio Rail Road Company are authorised to exercise
under the act of Assembly passed at December session
eighteen hundred and thirty, chapter one hundred and se-
venteen, entitled a second supplement to the act entitled an
act to incorporate the Baltimore and Ohio Rail Road Com-
pany, passed at December session eighteen hundred and

twenty six chapter one hundred and twenty three subject
to the liabilities and restrictions therein provided and Provi-
ed also, that at anytime after the said Rail Road shall have
been completed and for one year in operation, the Legisla-
ture shall have full power to regulate and by law to ascer-
am and fix the rates of toll, so that the profits of the said
company, after the payment of all necessary and reasonable
expenses, shall not be less than six percent per annum,
upon their capital stock

CHAPTER 203

An art to accept the provisions of an act of Congress,
entitled, an act for the continuation and repair of the
Cumberland Road, in the States of Ohio, Indiana, and
Illinois

Passed Mar 14 1835

WHEREAS by an act of Congress, entitled an act for
the continuation and repair of the Cumberland Road, in the
States of Ohio, Indiana and Illinois it is enacted, that be
fore the expenditure of the money therein authorised, the
said road shall be surrendered to, and accepted by the
States respectively, through which said road passes, and it
appearing right and proper that the State of Maryland
should accept of the surrender of that part of said road
passing through the limits of Maryland —Therefore,

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the State of Maryland will, and by this act dors, accept of
