JAMES THOMAS, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

Sheriff, Provided, that if any person or persons, against
Whom a claim shall be set up by said Joshua Guyton, for
fees or officers fees as aforesaid, shall make affidavit before
any justice of the peace of said county, that he or she be-
lieves the same to have been paid and satisfied, it shall for-
ever bar such claim from being collected by execution as

CHAP. 107.

aforesaid, and provided also, that nothing in this act shall
be construed to authorise the collection, by execution, of
any claim against the estate of any deceased person.

Proviso

Sec 2 And be it enacted, That before the said Joshua
Guyton proceeds to collect under this act, he shall deposit
in the Clerk's office of said count, a list of the persons who
owe him for fees, or officer's fees, with the amount due by
each person

Sec 3 And be it enacted, That if Harford County Court
upon the application of the securities of said Joshua Guy.
ton, shall appoint any person or persons to collect the mo-
ney due to said Joshua Guyton, as late Sheriff, such person
or persons, so appointed, shall have the same power to col-
lect by execution, that is given by this act, to said Joshua
Guyton, Provided, that no person shall be executed under
this act, without a previous demand in writing shewing
the amount claimed, and on what account the same is due

CHAPTER 107

An act for the relief of Mary Stanton.

Passed Feb 19 1835

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Levy Court of Prince George's county, be, and they
are hereby authorised and required, to levy on the assessa-
ble property of Prince George's county, the sum of fifty
dollars, annually, for the use of Mary Stanton, of said
county, so long as they deem it right and proper to levy
the same, that said sum, when so levied and collected, shall
be paid over by the collector of the tax of said county,
to Edward L. Hunt, for the use of the said Mary Stanton
