LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Sec 3 And be it enacted, That the provisions of this
act, are intended to take effect immediately, and to be ap-
plied to the fees, by the said clerk to be sent out for collec-
tion, in this present year, one thousand eight hundred and
thirty five

CHAPTER 91

Passed Feb. 24, 1835

A further additional supplement to an an entitled, an act for
erecting buildings for the use of the Poor, in Queen Anne's
County, and for other purposes, passed at November ses-
sion, 1803

Authority to rebuild

&c.

Section 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the trustees of the poor of Queen Anne's
county, for the time being, be and they are hereby authorised
and empowered to rebuild and finish, in a suitable manner,
the Alms House of said county, which has recently been
destroyed by fire, and to contract with workmen, and pur-
chase all necessary materials to effect said object

Sec 2 And be it enacted, That should the said trustees
deem it more expedient for the interest of the county, and
the accommodation of the Poor, to locate the said Alms
House in a different part of the county, then they are hereby
authorised and em powered to contract for and purchase in
fee simple, to be conveyed to, and held in trust by the said
trustees and their successors, forever as public land, for the
use of the Poor of said county any tract or parcel of land
arid the said land when purchased and conveyed as afore
said shall be bounded by stones set up at the corners there
of, and a plat of the same, with a certificate and explana-
tion, together with the deed oi conveyance, shall be re-
corded among the records of said county and the said trus-
tees shall then have power to construct and erect all build-
ings and improvements thereon, necessary for the comfort
and accommodation of the poor of said county

Sell and transfer

Sec 3 And be it enacted, That in the event of said trus-
tees, determining to make a purchase as herein authorised,
they shall then proceed to sell, on such terms as they deem
most advantageous to the county, all the lands and real es
tate they now hold as trustees in virtue of the act, and the
several supplements thereunto, and to which this is a further
additional supplement, and as soon as the purchase money for
