CHAP. LV.

An Act to repeal part of an act, entitled, An act for
the encouragement of Primary Schools in Anne-Arun-
del County.

CHAP. 55.
Passed Feb 14, 1829

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the act for the encouragement of primary
schools in Anne-Arundel county, passed at December ses-
sion eighteen hundred and twenty-seven, chapter one hun-
dred and seventy-three, excepting the second section there-
of, be and the same is hereby repealed.

Repeal

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the treasurer of the
western shore be, and he is hereby authorised and required,
to invest in some safe and productive fund, so much of the
monies now in the treasury to the credit of the school fund
of said county, as shall procure a capital or principal stock
of five thousand dollars, which said stock shall be held for
the use and benefit of primary schools in said county, and
the dividends or profits arising on said stock, as they arise,
shall be deposited in the Farmers' Bank of Maryland to
the credit of the commissioners of primary schools in said
county.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the treasurer of the wes-
tern shore be and he is hereby authorised and required, to
deposite in the Farmers' Bank of Maryland, to the credit of
the aforesaid commissioners, the residue of the monies be-
longing to the school fund of said county, which shall re-
main in the treasury, after making; the aforesaid investment,
which said residue, and all other monies deposited or to be
deposited, to the credit of said commissioners, shall be by

the public instruction of youth in primary schools through-
out this state, passed at December session eighteen hundred
and twenty-five, chapter one hundred and sixty-two, to the
support of primary schools in said county.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the commissioners of
primary schools in said county shall, on the first Mondays
in April and October, in each and every year hereafter, ap-
portion and distribute the monies which may be placed un-
der their control, in manner and form as is provided by the
aforesaid act to provide for the public instruction of youth
in primary schools throughout this state.

A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act to Incorporate
the Allegany Iron Company.

Passed Feb 14, 1829

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the name of the Allegany Iron Company
be, changed to that of the Youghogany Iron Company, and
