collectors, whose duty it shall be to collect the
same agreeably
to the provisions of the original act and its supplements,
and to pay over as much thereof as may be necessary for the
repair of arms, the payment of musicians, and of other incidental
expenses.

Surplus funds applied
to build arsenals.
|
Sec. 5. And be it enacted,
That all surplus funds which
may remain after paying the aforesaid expences shall be invested
by the board of officers abovementioned, in some productive
fund, until it shall be sufficient to purchase or erect
one or more arsenals, when it shall be the duty of said board
so to apply the same.
|
Complement of officers.
|
Sec. 6. And be it enacted,
That each company in said division
shall be entitled to a complement of officers similar in
number and rank to that established in the army of the United
States.
|
Third regiment of
riflemen.
|
Sec. 7. And be it enacted,
That a new regiment of riflemen
to be called the third regiment, shall be and is hereby formed
with the usual field, company and staff officers, and that the
said regiment be attached to the third brigade.
|
Commissions revoked
on certain
dimunition.
|
Sec. 8. And be it enacted,
That no volunteer brigade which
has, for two successive years, less than two regiments, and
that no volunteer regiment, which has for two successive
years, less than four such companies as are authorised by the
act to which this is a supplement shall continue; and if from the
returns or other good authority, the commanding officer of the
said division shall suspect that any brigade or regiment, under
his command, has not such complement, he shall cause the
same to be investigated, and if it shall be established to his
satisfaction that the said brigade or regiment, has not the said
complement, he shall forthwith report the same to the Governor
and Council, who shall thereupon revoke the commissions of
the general and staff officers of said brigade or of the field and
staff officers of said regiment.

Repeal.
|
Sec. 9. And be it enacted,
That any clause, matter or thing
in the act or its supplements to which this is a supplement, inconsistent
with the provisions of this act, be and the same are
hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 198.
A supplement to the act entitled, an act concerning Factors and
Agents.

Clause repealed.
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That so much of the proviso to the first section of the
act to which this is a supplement, as enacts that " the person
or persons in whose name or names, any such goods, wares,
or merchandise, are so shipped or consigned, shall be taken
