or of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore, to levy
and collect such tax upon the property of said corporation,
as may be laid upon individual property, or to levy and
collect such tax upon their public exhibitions, as may be levied
on such exhibitions in any other part of the said city, or
of this State.
  CHAP. 196.  
    Sec. 12.  And be it enacted, That this charter shall continue
and be in force, until the year eighteen hundred and forty-five,
and to the end of the session of the Legislature next
thereafter.

                                        CHAPTER 197.

An additional supplement to an act entitled, " an act for the
    better regulation of the Militia of the city of Baltimore."



Passed Feb. 26, 1830.
    Section 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That in lieu of the parades which are now ordered by
law, all the officers, non commissioned officers, privates and
musicians, composing the brigades of the third division, shall
assemble for inspection and militia duty on the days hereinafter
mentioned, and as herein directed, viz:  The first brigade
of artillery on the first Monday in May; the light brigade on
the second Monday in May; the third brigade on the second
Tuesday in May; and the fourteenth brigade on the second
Wednesday in May, in each and every year, at eight o'clock
in the morning, at such place or places as the commanding
officers of their respective brigades may appoint.

    Sec. 2.  And be it enacted, That if any non commissioned
officer, private or musician, whose duty it shall be to attend
the meeting as directed, shall refuse or neglect so to do, he
shall forfeit and pay a sum not less than one dollar nor more
than three dollars, to be fixed and ascertained by the Court of
Appeals, and recorded in the manner pointed out in the third
section of the first supplement to the original act.

    Sec. 3.  And be it enacted, That the generals of brigade,
with the commanding officers of regiment and extra battalions
of their respective commands, shall form and constitute a board,
whose duty it shall be to appoint one or more fit and suitable
persons to act as collectors for their respective brigades, to
receive from said collectors a bond to the State with sufficient
security for the due and faithful performance of their duties, to
allow to the said collectors such compensation as they may
deem just and necessary, and to examine and audit the accounts
of said collectors on the third Monday of September in
each and every year.

by officers or soldiers shall be delivered to the said
