CHAPTER 180.
An act to Divorce William Kempton and Matilda his wife, of
the City of Baltimore.
|
Absolute divorce.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
the marriage contract between William Kempton, of Baltimore
city, and Matilda his wife, be, and the same is, from henceforth
and forever, absolutely annulled, and declared to be void,
to all intents and purposes, as if the same had never been solemnized.

CHAPTER 181.
An act relating to the Baltimore
Second Dispensary.

Name changed.
Proviso.
|
Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the
General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Baltimore Second Dispensary, shall hereafter, be called
and known by the name of the Baltimore Eastern Dispensary,
and by the President and Directors thereof, shall hereafter
be subject to all the obligations and duties, and have and exercise
all the rights and powers which they might have had or
exercised, if the said name had not been changed, and that the
said corporation shall have power to pass such further rules
and by-laws, as may be necessary and proper, to carry this
act into effect, not inconsistent with the laws of this State, or
of the United States, And provided, That nothing herein contained,
shall be so construed as to enable the incorporators to
carry on any trade or business unconnected with the immediate
object of this act.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted,
That all the powers and duties
of the President and Directors of the Baltimore Second Dispensary,
heretofore established east of Harford Run, in the
city of Baltimore, be, and the same are hereby extended westwardly
within the limits of said city, to Jone's Falls, Provided
however, That by an arrangement between the said institution,
and the general Dispensary, the attending Physicians
of either institution, may by their respective boards of directors,
be required to attend patients within the limits of the
other, and if the two Dispensaries aforesaid, should hereafter
agree upon any change of their respective limits, the same is
hereby authorised to be made, in which event each institution
shall make and preserve amongst its proceedings, suitable
and descriptive entries thereof.

Appointment of
officers.
|
Sec. 3. And be it enacted,
That the President, Apothecary
or resident Physician, Treasurer and Secretary of the said
corporation, shall be annually appointed by a board of Directors,
a majority of whom shall concur in such appointment,
