be sued, implead and be impleaded, answer and be answered
unto, in any court of law or equity of this state, and may
make, have and use a common seal and the same break, alter
and renew at pleasure, and may and shall have power to make
all such by-laws and regulations in respect to future elections,
and for the management of the stock, as they may see fit and
convenient, not repugnant to, be inconsistent with the laws and
constitution of this State or of the United States.
  CHAP. 178.  
    Sec. 2.  And be it enacted, That the President and Directors
first to be chosen as aforesaid, shall procure certificates to be
printed, for all the shares of stock of the said company, and
shall deliver one such certificate signed by the President and
sealed with the seal of the corporation, to each person, for
each and every share by him or her subscribed or held, which
certificate shall be transferable in person or by attorney in the
presence of the President or Treasurer and the assignee holding
any certificate, having first caused the assignment to be
entered in a book of the company to be kept for that purpose,
shall be a member of the corporation, and entitled to vote at
the meeting of the company.

    Sec. 3.  And be it enacted, That all such parts of the original
act to which this is a supplement, which are contrary to,
or inconsistent with the provisions of this act, be, and the same
are hereby repealed.

                                        CHAPTER 179.

An act to authorise the Justices of the Orphans' and Levy
    Court of Dorchester County, to appoint their respective
    Criers.



Passed Feb. 27, 1830.
    Section 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Justices of the Orphans' and Levy Courts for
Dorchester county, respectively, be, and they are hereby authorised,
to appoint their Criers, from and after the first day of
April next.
Authority granted.
    Sec. 2.  And be it enacted, That the Levy Court for Dorchester
county is hereby authorised and directed to levy on the
assessable property of said county, annually, a sum of money
for the use of the Criers aforesaid, not exceeding one dollar
per day for every day that the Register of Wills, and Clerk of
the County, shall certify that the said Crier acted as such.
