            THOMAS KING CARROLL, ESQ. GOVERNOR.                                                                                           1829.

to the laws of the United States, may be called in question
to his great detriment and injury; Therefore,
  CHAP. 147.  
    Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the title in, and to, the real property, lawfully and fairly acquired
by the aforesaid Duncan Stone, whether such title be
derived by gift, grant, purchase or devise, be, and the same
is hereby as fully and amply vested in the said Duncan Stone,
to all intents and purposes, as if he had been naturalized
agreeable to the said law; Provided always, That nothing in
this act, shall in any manner affect or defeat any right, title,
or claim to the said property, or any part thereof, acquired or
prosecuted by any person or persons whatever, before the
passage of this act; And provided also, That unless the said
Duncan Stone, shall on or before the first day of April, in the
year of our lord, eighteen hundred and thirty five, according
to law, become a citizen of the United States, this act shall
have no effect to confirm his title to the property above mentioned,
nor shall he or any person claiming under him, derive
any benefit under this act; but if the said Duncan Stone, shall
die before the time when by the laws of the United States, he
may become a citizen thereof, nothing in this proviso contained,
shall prevent him from transmitting or transferring his
said property, be descent or devise, to any issue he may leave
residing within the United States, who is hereby declared capable
in law, to hold the same, or to any other person being
a citizen of the United States, capable in law to hold the same.

                                        CHAPTER 148.

    An act to divorce Ira Emmons and Zilpa Emmons, of Cecil
                                             county.



Passed Feb. 23, 1830.
    Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the marriage of Ira Emmons and Zilpa Emmons of Cecil county,
heretofore solemnized, be, and the same is hereby declared
to be, absolutely, and to all intents and purposes, null and
void, and the said Ira Emmons and Zilpa Emmons, are declared
to be divorced avinculo matrimonii.
Divorce avinculo.

                                        CHAPTER 149.

An act to provide for the inspection of Shingles at Port Deposit,
                                       in Cecil County.



Passed Feb. 23, 1830.
    Section 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Governor, by and with the advice and consent
    Inspector to be appointed.
