CHAPTER 117.
An act empowering the Commissioners of Harford County, in
their discretion, to build a Bridge over Deer Creek, at or
near
a place known by the name of Deaths Ford.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
it shall be lawful for the Commissioners of Harford county,
to levy upon the assable property of said county a sum of money,
not exceeding seven hundred dollars, for the purpose of
erecting a bridge over Deer creek, at or near a place known
by the name of Death's Ford, if they in their judgment shall
deem it necessary, and that it is expedient to erect the same;
and in case the said Commissioners shall deem it expedient to
build said bridge, they shall appoint commissioners to fix upon a
suitable place for erecting the same, at or near the place aforesaid
and the commissioners shall also contract with some person or
persons for erecting of said bridge, by offering the building to
the lowest bidder, first giving notice in some one or more
newspapers printed in said county, for three successive weeks,
of the day they will receive proposals, who shall give bond
and security to the said commissioners, for building the same
in a good and substantial manner, and for a sum not exceeding
seven hundred dollars.

CHAPTER 118.
An act to empower the Justices of the Levy Court of Talbot
County, to assess and levy annually, a sum of money for the
purposes therein mentioned.

Passed Feb. 22, 1830.
|
WHEREAS, Mary Deborough, of Talbot county,
by her
petition to this General Assembly, hath set forth that her son
Thomas Deborough, an idiot, now five years of age, is so perfectly
deprived of understanding, being both deaf and dumb,
as to be utterly incapable of taking care of himself; and that
she the said Mary Deborough, from indigent circumstances,
and being a widow, with two other small children, is entirely
unable to contribute in any degree to his maintenance, and
praying that some provision may be made for the support of
her said son; and the facts appearing to this General Assembly
to be true; Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
Justices of the Levy Court of Talbot county shall have full
power and authority, and they are hereby directed and required
annually to assess, so long as they shall see cause, on the
assessable property of said county, a sum not exceeding thirty
dollars for any one year; which said sum, so levied and assessed,
shall be collected as other county charges are, and
