CHAPTER 119.
An act to establish and confirm certain acts done by a Justice of
the Peace in Cecil County.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, It appears to this General
Assembly of Maryland,
that Jacob Williams was regularly appointed and duly
commissioned a Justice of the Peace, for Cecil county, on the fifteenth
day of October, in the year eighteen hundred and twenty-seven,
but owing to some unknown cause, his commission did
not reach the office of the clerk of the county: Therefore,

Acts confirmed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
all the acts and deeds done by Jacob Williams, as a Justice of
the Peace for Cecil county, from the tenth of November eighteen
hundred and twenty-seven, until the tenth of March, eighteen
hundred and twenty-eight, inclusive, be, and they are
hereby confirmed and declared [ ] valied, and of as full effect,
to all intents and purposes, as of his commission had been duly
received by the clerk of said county.

CHAPTER 120.
An act for the relief of Washington Applebee, an insolvent
debtor of Montgomery County.

Insolvent acts extended
to.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the
Judges of Montgomery county court be, and he or they are hereby
authorised and required, to grant to Washington Applebee
of said county, the benefit of the several acts of Assembly,
passed for the relief of insolvent debtors; Provided, that the
said Applebee shall comply with the provisions of the said
insolvent laws in all other respects except that of proving residence;
and provided he shall satisfy the said judge or justice
of the orphans' court, that he did not come into this State with
the intention of obtaining the benefit of the insolvent laws of
this State.
