CHAP. 107.
Continuances.

committed within the jurisdiction of said court, and
all
criminal writs, all applications for the benefit of the insolvent
laws of this State all petitions for public roads, and the returns
of commissioners thereon, and all appeals from the judgments
of Justices of the Peace, in said county, shall be made
returnable to the May and December terms of said county
court; and that all criminal cases, and all cases of misdemeanors,
all cases of insolvencies, all application and proceedings
for public roads, and all appeals from judgments of Justices
of the Peace; now pending in the county court of Frederick
county, shall be transmitted by the clerk of said court to the
May and December terms of said court which shall be there
heard, tried, proceeded upon and determined in the same
manner as they might or could have been, in said county court,
before the passage of this law, and the Judges of the said
county court, shall have power to continue any business pending
before them, at the May and December terms, to the
next succeeding term of said court, to be held in May and December,
in each and every year.

Juries to be summoned.
|
Sec. 5. And be it enacted,
That it shall hereafter be the duty
of the Sheriff of Frederick county, to summon forty-eight
suitable persons to attend the May and December terms of
said county court, in each and every year, as Jurors, twenty-three
of whom shall serve as Grand Jurors, and twenty-five
as Petit Jurors, and that it shall hereafter be the duty of the
Sheriff of said county, to summon twenty-five suitable persons,
only, to attend the February and October terms of said
court, as Jurors, who shall act as Petit Jurors.

Limitation.
|
Sec. 6. And be it enacted,
That this act shall take effect
from and after the fourth Monday of February, eighteen hundred
and thirty, and be, and continue in force, until the first
day of December eighteen hundred and thirty-five, and until
the end of the next session of the General Assembly that shall
happen thereafter.

CHAPTER 108.
An act relating to the Trustees of the poor of Worcester county.
|
Compensation.
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the trustees of the poor in Worcester county, for
every day they may actually be employed in the discharge of
their duties as trustees as aforesaid, shall be entitled to the
sum of one dollar and fifty cents each.
|
Levy.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That
the levy court of Worcester
county, be, and they are hereby authorised and directed, to
levy and assess on the assessable property of said county, a
sum sufficient for the payment of the said trustees as aforesaid,
