limits of his jurisdiction, shall be, and the same are hereby
declared valid and effectual, to all intents and purposes, in the
like manner as if the said John Rawlins, aforesaid, at the
time of doing or performing such act or acts, had not held the
office of postmaster under the government of the United
States.

                                        CHAPTER 101.

An act to authorise the Levy Court of Worcester County to
    Levy a sum of money for the repairing of a certain cause-way
    in said county.



Passed Feb. 20, 1830.
    Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Levy Court of Worcester county be, and they are hereby
authorised and required (if in their judgment they may deem
it expedient,) to levy upon the assessable property of said
county, such sum or sums of money, as may, in their opinion,
be sufficient to repair, and put in good order, the cause way in
said county, leading from Newtown to Pollitt's Ferry, commonly
called Stevens's Ferry, on Pocomoke river; and that
the sum or sums of money, so as aforesaid directed to be levied
for the use aforesaid, shall be applied by the said Levy
Court in such manner as they may deem most advisable for
the accomplishment of the object intended by the said levy;
and the said sum or sums of money, levied as aforesaid, shall
be collected and paid over as other county charges.

                                        CHAPTER 102.

An act authorising Roger Perry, Gustavus Beall, and Joseph
    Everstine, of the town of Cumberland, or a majority of them,
    to settle and adjust the account of John Hogeland and Jonathan
    Hogeland, for grading and paving Mechanick-street, in
    the said town.



Passed Feb. 20, 1830.
    WHEREAS, By an act, passed at December session eighteen
hundred and fifteen, chapter one hundred and thirty-six, entitled,
" an act to provide for the appointment of Commissioners
for the regulation and improvement of the town of Cumberland,
in Allegany county, and to incorporate the same, it was
provided that the said commissioners should have power, under
certain conditions specified in said act, to cause any street
or alley, or any part thereof, to be graded, paved, or otherwise
improved, and to collect the expence of grading, paving,
or otherwise improving the same, in the manner prescribed in
Preamble.
