returnable to the first Monday of May.
Repeal.
    Sec. 2.  And be it enacted, That all laws heretofore passed,
which directed the county court of Worcester county to be
held on any other days than those above directed, be, and the
same are hereby repealed.

                                        CHAPTER 80.

An act to incorporate the Trustees of Berlin Academy, in Worcester
                                           County.

Preamble.
    WHEREAS, sundry inhabitants of Worcester county, have
by their petition set forth to the General Assembly, that they
have contracted for a lot of ground, in or near the village of
Berlin, in said county, with the intention of building thereon
suitable buildings for a Seminary of learning, and have prayed
for an act of incorporation for the regulation of said seminary,
which prayer appears both reasonable and proper, and ought
to be granted; Therefore,
Persons incorporated
and empowered.
























Proviso.
    Section 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That John C. Derickson, John R. Pitts, James Rackliffe,
Isaac Covington and Henry Franklin, junior, of Worcester
county and their successors, who shall be duly elected in the
manner herein after provided and directed, be, and they are
hereby incorporated and made a body politic forever, by the
name and style of the Trustees of Berlin Academy of
Worcester county, by which name and style, the said Trustees
and their successors, shall be capable in any court of law
or equity in this state, to sue and be sued, to defend and be defended,
to answer and be answered to hold, whether acquired
by purchase, gift or devise, property, real, personal or mixed,
and the same to use, manage and employ, in such manner as
they or a majority of them, may deem  most beneficial to carry
into effect the purposes of the institution, and to sell or
dispose of the same, and in fine, to do and perform any act or
acts, which any corporation or body politic within this state and
in like cases, may or can do and perform; and the said trustees
and their successors, are hereby authorised to have and use
one common seal and the same to break, alter and renew at
pleasure, Provided always, That the property to be held by
the said trustees in their corporate capacity, shall not exceed
the annual value of one thousand dollars.
    Election of trustees
hereafter.
    Sec. 2.  And be it enacted, That whenever any of the said
trustees shall die, resign or refuse to act or qualify, or shall
cease to reside in Worcester county, the remaining trustees or
any two of them, shall by public notice appoint a day not less
than fifteen days thereafter, for the election of another trustee
