CHAP. 77.

That the said body corporate and politic or association,
shall not at any time (in their said corporate capacity) hold
or possess property, real personal or mixed, exceeding the
sum of two thousand dollars.

Annual election of
three trustees.
|
Sec. 3. And be it enacted,
That an election for Trustees,
shall be held on the first Monday of May eighteen hundred
and thirty, and on the first Monday of every succeeding May,
at the said school house, which said election shall be by ballot,
and conducted as follows, to wit: every subscriber to said
institution, shall be allowed one vote, and the three persons
having a majority of votes, shall be declared the Trustees for
the ensuing year, Provided, that no person but a subscriber,
shall be a Trustee.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted,
That Daniel Michael, Hanson
Courtney, John Bennett, Joseph Ford, and Bennett Fletcher,
be, and they are hereby constituted and appointed Trustees
of the association aforesaid, who shall act until the time before
appointed, for the election of Trustees; and in case of the
death, resignation, or removal, out of the county, of any Trustee
appointed under this act, or any of their successors, the
remaining Trustee or Trustees shall forthwith give notice to
the members of the aforesaid association, to assemble within
thirty days from the time of such notification, at the place
which may be designated for holding their election, who
shall then and there proceed to fill such vacancy or vacancies.

CHAPTER 78.
An act to authorise and empower the Mayor and the City Council
of the City of Baltimore, to extend, open, and condemn, a
certain Alley therein mentioned.

Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Mayor and City Council of the City of Baltimore,
be, and they are hereby authorised and empowered to
extend, open, and condemn, as a public Alley, a certain Alley,
twelve feet wide, which was heretofore laid off, by the late
John E. Howard, eastwardly from Eutaw street, in the said
City, at the distance of one hundred and twenty-one feet north
from the northeast intersection of Eutaw and Saratoga
streets, and parallel with Saratoga street, until the same shall
intersect with Eager Alley.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted,
That previously to such opening,
extension and condemnation, the said Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, shall appoint five persons, of judgment
and integrity, to enquire how the said extension may be made
with the least detriment to the rights of private property, who
