                                        CHAPTER 47.

An act to repeal all special acts of Assembly, for the pecuniary
    relief of indigent persons by county assessment, in Caroline
    county, and for other purposes.



Passed Feb. 3, 1830.
    Section 1.  Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all special acts of Assembly, granting pecuniary
relief to indigent persons, by county assessments, and limiting
the number of out pensioners to twenty, in Caroline county,
be, and the same are hereby repealed.
    Former acts repealed.
    Sec. 2.  And be it enacted, That the justices of the levy
court of Caroline county, be, and they are hereby authorised
and empowered, to levy on the assessable property of said
county, a sum of money not exceeding four hundred dollars annually,
to be by the said justices of the levy court apportioned
out to such indigent individuals, as to them, in their discretion
may seem most to require the same.
    Levy court empowered.

                                        CHAPTER 48.

An act to authorise Thompson F. Mason of Alexandria, District
    of Columbia, to hire, remove to, or work on Fair Island,
    in the Potomac river, any of his shares.



Passed Feb. 3, 1830.
    Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
it shall and may be lawful for said Thompson F. Mason, at
any time hereafter, and as often as he may think proper, to
hire, remove to,[ ] work on Fair Island in the Potomac river,
any of his slaves; and no negro or slave belonging to said
Thompson F. Mason, that shall be hired, remove to, or worked
in and upon said Island, shall be entitled to freedom on account
of such removal.
Permission granted.

                                        CHAPTER 49.

An act to authorise John Croft, of Baltimore county, to hold
                                          real estate.



Passed Feb. 3, 1830.
    Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
John Croft of Baltimore county, shall be, and he is hereby authorised
and enabled, to have, hold, take, possess, and enjoy,
Privilege granted.
