CHAPTER 35.
A Supplement to the act entitled, " an act to change the names of
the Bank of Winchester and Office of Pay and Receipt, to
the Farmers and Mechanics Bank of Frederick County, and
to locate said Bank at Frederick City, with a Branch at
Westminster."

WHEREAS, the Stockholders of the Farmers
and Mechanics
Bank of Frederick County, by their memorial to this General
Assembly, have represented that it would be promotive of the
interests of all concerned, that the Parent Bank at Frederick
City and the Branch of said Bank at Westminster, as established
by the act of Assembly, of December session, eighteen
hundred and twenty-six, chapter one hundred and seven,
should be rendered independent of each other, upon the terms
and conditions in said memorial set forth; and have prayed for
the passage of a law to that effect; therefore,

Preamble.
|
Section 1. Be it enacted by
the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the said
Parent Bank of the Farmers and Mechanics Bank of Frederick
county established at Frederick city, and the Branch of
said Bank established at Westminster, shall and they are hereby
created and declared to be separate institutions, independent
of each other, upon the terms and conditions following,
viz:

Institution separated.

That the said Parent Bank at Frederick
City, shall hold and
retain all its present funds, its bills, notes and credits, its real
and personal property in Frederick city, the Monocacy and
Frederick Turnpike Road Stock, and the Frederick Water
Stock, and shall be answerable for its own debts, and the redemption
of its circulation, to be entitled to employ two thirds,
viz: Two hundred thousand dollars of the capital stock of said
Farmers and Mechanics Bank of Frederick county:—

Condition.
|
That the said Branch Bank at Westminster,
shall be rendered
independent of the Parent Bank at Frederick City, with the
privilege of employing one third, viz: one hundred thousand
dollars of the capital stock of the said Farmers and Mechanics
Bank of Frederick county. That said Branch Bank shall
hold and retain all its present funds, its notes, bills and credits,
its real and personal property at Westminster; the Farm
called Flocks Farm, and the Farm on Sams Creek, (paying
for the Farm last mentioned to the Parent Bank at Frederick
city the amount of the original purchase thereof by said Bank)
and shall be answerable for its own debts and the redemption
of its circulation.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted,

Beall, Thomas W. Morgan, Gideon Bantz, John Nelson, William
R. Sanderson, Robert McCleery, Andrew McCleery,
