CHAP. 19.

holder of a warrant of resurvey issued out of the land-offic
for the western shore, to Richard Caton, on the sixteent
day of February, in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and twenty-seven, and since assigned to th
said Charles Carroll, of Carrollton, by the said Richar
Caton, which said warrant of resurvey was issued to autho
rise the resurvey of a lot or parcel of land which was con
veyed in trust by the said Charles Carroll, of Carrollton
on the fourteenth day of May eighteen hundred and twenty
two, to Robert Patterson, John Eager Howard, junior, an
Henry M. Murray, and the survivors and survivor, and th
heirs of the survivors of them, for the use of Richard an
Mary Caton, under such limitations, and for such uses, a
are set forth in said deed: And whereas it appears that a
resurvey has been made, and certificate returned, called
The First Addition to Brookland Wood, but that the rules
of the land-office do not permit the issuing of a patent upon
any surveys made under warrants of resurvey under such
circumstances; therefore,

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the register of the land-office for the western
shore be, and he is hereby authorised and directed, to issue-
a patent for the same to the said Charles Carroll, of Carroll-
ton, for the land included in such certificate of resurvey
thus made and returned, and called The First Addition to
Brookland Wood, provided said certificate shall have
become ready for patent according to the rules of the land-
office.

Passed Feb. 6,1829

Preamble

An Act to change the public Road leading from Allen's
Fresh to New-Port, in Charles County.
WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly, b
the memorial of sundry inhabitants of Charles county, tha
the convenience of the public would be greatly promoted
by changing the public road leading from Alien's Fresh to
New-Port; therefore,

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That George D. Parnham, Robert Crain, junior,
and Alexius Lancaster, be and they are hereby appointed
commissioners to alter, open and locate, a public road lead
ing from Alien's Fresh to New-Port, in Charles county, so
as to run from a point near the south-west corner of Thomas
Dunnington's fence, which binds the east side of the presen
road near Alien's Fresh, eastwardly, with the line of sail
Dunnington's land, and the land of John Winter, until it
reaches the land of John Horsey, and then to incline south
wardly through the land of said Horsey, until it intergect
