CHAP. 120.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That said incorporated com-
pany shall assemble and meet at such times and places as
|

and put in execution all such by-laws, rules, ordinances and
regulations, as to them shall seem conducive to the interests
of said company, and necessary to the good government and
orderly management thereof, the same not being contrary to
the laws of this state, or of the United States, and that they
are hereby made able and capable in law to have, purchase,
receive, possess, enjoy and retain, to them and their suc-

taments, and the same to grant, demise, alien or dispose of,
in such manner as they may judge proper; Provided never-
theless, that the said corporation or body politic shall not at
any one time hold or possess property real, personal or mix-
ed, exceeding the sum of one thousand dollars; Provided
nevertheless, that nothing herein contained shall be con-
strued to authorise or empower the company by this act in-
corporated to carry on any trade or business, or to do or
for which the company is declared to be incorporated.

An Act to authorise the Levy Court of Prince- George's Coun-
ty to convey certain Lots therein mentioned in the Town of
Nottingham.

See. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the levy court of Prince George's county be
and they are hereby authorised and required, to convey to
Philemon Chew and George W. Biscoe, respectively, by
good and sufficient deeds, the lots on which the old ware-
houses stood in the town of Nottingham, in Prince-George's
county, so soon as the purchase money shall have been re-
ceived by the said court.

An Act to make good and valid the Acts and Duties performed
by James M'Guire as a Justice of the Peace jor Caroline
County.

Preamble
|
WHEREAS doubts are entertained as to the naturalization
of James M'Guire, a justice of the peace in and for Caro-
line county, by which difficulties have arisen in the minds
of many persons, as to the validity of all the duties and acts
performed by the said M'Guire, acting as a justice as afore-
said; therefore, for the better security of all persons con-
cerned in the validity of all acts performed by him as jus-
tice aforesaid,
