CHAP. 104.

and they are hereby authorised by ballot, or otherwise, te
fill up any vacancies that have or may hereafter occur in
the board of trustees of the Severn Church in Anne-Arun-
del county.

Powers of trustees

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the said board of trustees,
(when the vacancies are supplied as aforesaid,) and their
successors, be and they are hereby vested with all the
powers and authorities, granted to the board of trustees
named in the original deed for the conveyance of said pro-
perty.

An Act for the relief of Samuel Messinger, of Frederick
County.

His title to lands

confirmed

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the title of Samuel Messinger, of Frederick
county, his heirs and assigns, to the land and premises con-
veyed to him by the heirs of John Stem, late of Frederick
county, deceased, be and the same is hereby confirmed
and made as valid and effectual, to all intents and purposes,
as if the said Samuel Messinger were a natural born citizen
of the state of Maryland.

Authorised to hold

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Samuel Messin-
ger shall be and he is hereby made able and capable in law
to take, hold and transmit, by descent or otherwise, any
real property which he may now possess, or hereafter ac-
quire by purchase, in the same manner as he might or could
have done if he had been a natural born citizen of this

Proviso

state; Provided nevertheless, that the said Samuel Messin-
ger shall become a naturalized citizen of the United States
so soon as the same can be effected according to the laws
thereof.

CHAP. CVI

Passed Mar 5, 1829

An Act to exempt certain Persons from serving as Ju-
rors in the Courts of Anne-Arundel County.

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That from and after the passage of this act, the jus-
tices of the orphans court, and the commissioners for Anne-
Arundel county, be and they are hereby exempt from serv-
ing as jurors in the courts of Anne-Arundel county.

Not to be summon-

ed hereafter

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall not be lawful
hereafter for the sheriff of Anne-Arundel county, to sum-
mon either a justice of the orphans court, or a commission-
er for Anne-Arundel county, to serve as a juror in the coun-
ty courts of said county.
