CHAP. CVII.

An Act relating to the Records in the Register of Wills.
Office of Harford County.

CHAP. 107.
Passed Mar 5, 102

Sec. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the register of wills of Harford county is
hereby authorised and required, to have repaired a book or
books, commonly called The Key to Administrations, in
his office, as the orphans court of said county for the time
being may order and direct, and that the said register also
transcribe, in a well bound new book or books, all such
parts of the old book or books commonly called The Key
to Administrations, as the said orphans court may order
and direct.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That the said register be al-
lowed a reasonable compensation for his trouble and ex-
pense in performing the duties required by this act, and the
same to be approved and certified by the said orphans court,
ta be levied on the assessable property of said county.

CHAP. CVIII.

An Act to authiorise Samuel B. Turner, of Kent County,
to cut a Canal, or Head Race, and to raise a Dam or
Dams, through and on certain Lands therein mention-
ed.

Passed Mar 5, 1829

the petition of Samuel R. Turner, of Kent county, that he
is possessed of a valuable grist and saw-mill, near the town
of Millington, in the said county; that for many years the
failure of the water in his pond, during the summer months,
has been so great as nearly to stop his business for three or
four months, annually ; that he attributes this failure to evapo-
ration, by reason of the expanded surface of the said pound;
and believing that the health of the neighbourhood would
be essentially promoted, and the water power increased, by
the reduction of the said pond: And whereas the said peti-
tioner, in consideration of the foregoing circumstances, hat
prayed that an act may pass to enable him to cut and enjoy
a canal or head race, from a certain point or points, on h»
streams, through the lands of John Turner, Nicholas Smith,
Rebecca Smith, Joshua J. Massey, Harriet M. Massey, and

persons are guardians, and to erect such dams on any of the
said lands, as may be necessary to supply his mills with wa-
ter: And whereas the said persons, by their several name
in writing, annexed to the said petition, have granted to the
said Samuel R. Turner, his heirs or assigns, the privilege;
desired in the said petition, he having agreed to make such
