penditures; to receive and expend funds that may be volun-
tarily contributed; and in general to make any provision in
connection with their work that the Commission may deem
necessary.
SEC. 4. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the 1st day of June, 1920.

CHAPTER 449.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendment Section 771
of Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land (Revised Edition of 1915), title "City of Balti-
more," sub-title "Police Commissioners," so as to increase
the number of physicians to the Police Department of
Baltimore City.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 771 of Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (Revised Edition of 1915), title
"City of Baltimore," sub-title "Police Commissioners," be
and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to read
as follows:
771. The said Board of Police Commissioners for the City
of Baltimore are authorized to appoint and commission bi-
ennially seven physicians' of integrity and capacity, residents
of Baltimore City, and who shall have practiced medicine
therein for at least three years, next preceding the date of
their commission, to act as physicians of the Police Department
of said city, under such rules and regulations as the said
Board may from time to time prescribe for their conduct; one
of the said physicians shall be designated by the said Board
as the chief physician.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall, take
effect June 1st, 1920.

AN ACT to authorize the Board of Police Commissioners of
Baltimore City to reinstate Wesley P. Scrivner as a patrol-
man of the Police Force of Baltimore City.
