LAWS OF MARYLAND. [Cn. 415

CHAPTER 414.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact Section 26 of Chapter 714 of
the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, passed at
the Januarjr Session, 1908.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mart/-
land, That Section 26 of Chapter 714 of the Acts of the Gen-
eral Assembly of Maryland, passed at the January Session,
1908, be, and the same is, hereby repealed and re-enacted with
amendments, so as to read as follows:

SEC. 26. And be it enacted. That all the streets, alleys, lanes
and public grounds in said Town of Betterton shall be sub-
ject, however, at all times for municipal and police purposes,
to the control of the Commissioners of Betterton, who may
establish, maintain, alter and repair said streets, alleys, lanes
and public grounds, and make such improvements thereof and
thereon as may, from time to time, seem to be necessary as
herein provided, and the County Commissioners of Kent
County shall annually on or before the first day of January,
1921, and every year thereafter, pay over to the Commissioners
of Betterton that proportion of the entire county levy for
roads and bridges which one-half of the total property assessed
within the limits of Betterton bears to the whole amount of
assessed property of Kent County, so that the Commissioners
of Betterton may receive and disburse the said amount for the
purpose of keeping in repair the public ways of said Town of
Betterton.

CHAPTER 415.

AN ACT to repeal Chapter 532 of the Public Local Laws of
Maryland, entitled "An Act directing the County Com-
missioners of Kent County, Maryland, to pay a sum of
money to the Town Commissioners of Galena, Kent
County, Maryland, for the improvement of streets of said
Town," as enacted by Chapter 532 of the Acts of 1906.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Chapter 532 of the Public Local Laws of Maryland,
entitled '' An Act directing the County Commissioners of Kent
County, Maryland, to pay a sum of money to the Town Com-
missioners of Galena, Kent County. Maryland, for the im-
