SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from and after June 1, 1920.

CHAPTER 27.
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and Council of Easton to
levy an assessment or tax upon certain property in the
town of Easton specifically benefited by improved paving,
and to provide for collecting the same.
WHEREAS, Railroad Avenue, or Goldsborough Street, from
East Avenue eastward to the old town limits at a point im-
proved by a State or State-Aid Road, and Port Street, from
Washington Street westward to the old town limits at a point
improved by a State or State-Aid road, have been specifically
benefited by improved paving, and no part of the cost of said
improvement has been paid by the owners of property abut-
ting thereon; and
WHEREAS, One-half of the cost of all other improved pav-
ing in said town has been paid by the owners of property
abutting on the streets so improved.
SECTION 1. Be ii enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and Council of Easton be, and it is
hereby, authorized and empowered to levy and impose upon
the several properties abutting upon Railroad Avenue, or
Goldsborough Street, from East Avenue eastward to the old
town limits at a point improved by a State or State-Aid road,
and upon Port Street from Washington Street westward to
the old town limits at a point improved by a State or State-
Aid road, a pro rata front foot assessment or tax sufficient
to provide for the payment of one-half the costs of construc-
tion of each of the aforesaid improved streets.
SEC. 2. Be it further enacted, That the assessment herein
authorized for each of said improved streets shall be and con-
stitute a lien upon the respective properties abutting on each
of said streets, and shall be collected by the Town Clerk as
