CHAPTER 290.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 26
of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land, title "Dorchester County," sub-title "Cambridge,"
as enacted by Chapter 481 of the Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, 1902, and of Chapter 233 of the
Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland, 1910, Section
59, so far as the said Act of 1910, Section 59, conflicts
with Section 26 of Chapter 483, Acts of 1902.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section 26 of Article 10 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland, title "Dorchester County," sub-title
"Cambridge." as enacted by Chapter 481 of the Acts of 1902,
and Section 59 of said Article, as enacted by the Acts of
1910, Chapter 233, so far as the last named Section 59 of the
Acts of 1910. Chapter 233, conflicts with said Section 26, Chap-
ter 481, Acts of 1902, be, and the same are hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as follows:
SEC. 26. To borrow money on negotiable paper, executed
by the Commissioners of Cambridge; provided the sum so
borrowed shall at no time exceed the sum of ten thousand dol-
lars ($10,000).
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted., That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency law and necessary for the immedi-
ate preservation of the public safety, and being passed upon a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all of the mem-
bers elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assem-
bly, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 291.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners
of Dorchester County, Maryland, to issue bonds to the
amount of three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,-
000.00) for the purpose of making general improvements
in said Dorchester County, to-wit: For the purpose of
purchasing lands for public school sites, erecting a new
public High School building in the town of Cambridge,
and building, repairing, renovating, or enlarging old
building and maintaining a new and modern bridge over
